Ella McDonald is a singer-songwriter based in Montclair, NJ and Somerville, MA. She has been writing and performing her original songs since the age of twelve, and playing instruments for many more. Her masterful folk guitar playing, thoughtful lyrics, and unique vocal tone have been compared by fans to artists like Maggie Rogers, Ingrid Michaelson, Norah Jones, and Florence Welch.
In 2017, Ella graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, where she majored in music with a singer-songwriter concentration. She is currently a sophomore at Tufts University pursuing a double major in music and sociology.
Ella is also a skilled recording engineer, and is currently working on recording and producing her sophomore album. She released her first album, entitled February, in January 2018. At Tufts, she is a member of the Musical Event Technical Staff, and does live sound and recording for concerts at Tufts.
