Ella McDonald is a singer-songwriter and photographer based in Montclair, NJ. She has been writing and performing her original songs since the age of twelve, and playing instruments for many more. Her unique style and craft of lyrics can be best described as indie folk/alternative. Ella has studied photography for over five years independently and through programs at the International Center of Photography. She has won prestigious awards including the National Geographic Kids International Photography Contest, three gold keys in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards, and a silver medal in the National Scholastic Art Awards. Ella recently graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, where she majored in music with a singer-songwriter concentration. She is currently studying music and liberal arts at Tufts University in Somerville, MA.

1/20/18- Album

I just released my debut album on Bandcamp! It is entirely self-engineered, mixed, and mastered, and my biggest project to date. Stream/buy it here.

11/7/16- Returning to Montclair

After a successful first two months at Interlochen Art Academy in Interlochen, MI, I'm coming home to Montclair for November break. On November 20th, I'll be hosting a concert at Trend Coffee and Tea House! For more information, click here.

I received a national silver medal in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for photography, and was featured in this Montclair Times piece detailing the award ceremony at Carnegie Hall and more about my photography! Check it out here.

2/12/15- Regional Scholastic Awards
